We've just re­leased Trans­ac­tion­sEssen­tials 3.6.2 with an­oth­er set of fix­es and im­prove­ments.

As usu­al, you can down­load here or through our maven repos­i­to­ry (the URL of which was sent by email af­ter you reg­is­tered the first time).

Great news: we now have over 10K down­loads per month (as per Jan­uary 2010), which is quite im­pres­sive giv­en our niche mar­ket fo­cus. This is over 10 times more than 6 months ago... Atomikos keeps on grow­ing!

Here is an in­ter­est­ing post at JBoss about con­fig­ur­ing Hiber­nate, In­fin­is­pan's caching and Atomikos JTA (among oth­er JTA im­ple­men­ta­tions). Sam­ple code and con­fig­u­ra­tion files are in­clud­ed.

Re­gards

We had sched­uled au­to­mat­ic synch­ing with Maven's cen­tral repos­i­to­ry for our 3.6 re­lease but so far we didn't man­age to get it to work. The rea­sons for this are main­ly tech­ni­cal ones at the lev­el of the syn­chro­niza­tion pro­to­col (rsync) and se­cu­ri­ty re­quire­ments.

Any­way, we are still look­ing for a good way to do this so we haven't giv­en up yet. It's just a bit more com­plex than we hoped for.

This is a bug fix re­lease, re­pair­ing some OSGi-spe­cif­ic prob­lems with class load­ing across bun­dles. Thanks a lot to Pas­cal Le­cler­cq for the feed­back while test­ing this! Also many thanks to Peter Kriens for the ad­vice on class load­ing.
